A man has been fined over USD$90,000 and given a two-month prison sentence after his pet parrot injured a doctor
A court heard the owner took his pet bird for a fly, close where the doctor was jogging.
This is when the parrot landed on his back and startled him by repeatedly flapping its wings.
As a result, the man dislocated his hip joint and fractured his pelvis after falling to the ground.
The doctor then sued the owner for negligent injury, and also made a civil claim for compensation for his financial losses.
He told the courts he was hospitalised for a week due to his injuries and was unable to work for more than half a year.
