The US has introduced a short-term funding bill to avoid a government shutdown

Announced by House Appropriations Committee Chair Rosa DeLauro, the bill will allow the government to remain funded until March 11.

Representative DeLauro says the US “needs a government funding agreement to create good-paying jobs, grow opportunity for the middle class, and protect national security”.

She says they are “close to reaching a framework government funding agreement”, but will “need additional time to complete the legislation in full”.
