NASA spacecraft detects a ‘hum’ deep in the cosmos

Published

NASA has confirmed that one of its longest-flying spacecraft has detected a “persistent hum” outside of the earth’s solar system.

Called Voyager 1, the craft is now exploring the border of our solar system and has recorded sounds of plasma waves.

Researchers say they are “detecting the faint, persistent hum of interstellar gas.”

This has prompted them to believe that there is more low-level activity in the area than was previously thought.

Voyager 1 is the most distant human-made object in space after launching back in 1977.
