Four anti-coup activists accused of “terror acts” have been put to death by Myanmar’s junta forces

Two pro-democracy rivals have been executed by Myanmar’s military.

The nation’s junta forces killed four prisoners in total, in the country’s first use of capital punishment in decades.

The four people were executed for reportedly leading “brutal and inhumane terror acts,” according to state-run media.

The junta has sentenced many peace activists to death. It’s part of their crackdown on dissent after seizing power last year.

The UN Secretary-General is condemning the decision, calling it a “blatant violation to the right of life.”
