Meghan Markle has filed a trademark for the word ‘archetypes’, the title for her upcoming Spotify podcast

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle has filed the request at the United States patent and trademark office for the exclusive use of the word.

The word archetype has been in use since 1540, making the word more than 450 years old.

If approved, the trademark will be owned by Archewell Audio, the production company co-owned by Meghan and Prince Harry

This comes after the couple reportedly signed a $34 million deal with Spotify in 2020 but are only now resuming the recording of the podcast 2 years after, in 2022.

In the trailer for the podcast, Archetypes, Meghan reveals she will “dissect, explore, and subvert the labels that try to hold women back”.

The podcast is scheduled to launch on Spotify anytime between June and August this year.
