The Qantas flight was travelling from Auckland to Sydney when it ran into trouble

The Qantas plane travelling from Auckland to Sydney has touched down safely after suffering engine troubles.

Pilots issued a mayday call about an hour out from the destination.

It quickly became the world’s most-tacked flight. 100,000 people flooded to FlightRadar24 to monitor QF1544 as it made its descent.

The initial mayday was then downgraded to a PAN, or a Possible Assistance Needed, shortly before its arrival.

Qantas has provided a short statement, saying, in line with standard procedure, the aircraft was met by emergency services.

The airline will share further information about this incident once the plane has been assessed by engineers. #Qantas #featured #trending
