Max Verstappen has come out on top, winning the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

Verstappen raced against Charles Leclerc, only days after the round was nearly cancelled in response to a nearby missile strike.

The winner’s Red Bull won by only half a second, crossing the line just ahead of the Ferrari.

Carlos Sainz scored third with Sergio Perez taking fourth place.

George Russell came fifth, while Formula One star Lewis Hamilton placed tenth and Australia’s Daniel Ricciardo came out of the race on the 37th lap.

Verstappen says “it was a really tough race but good race. We battled hard and we had to play the long game”.

Runner-up Leclerc criticised his efforts saying “it wasn’t enough today” but says he really enjoyed that race.
