Desperate shoppers have been seen trying to escape Ikea in Shanghai after the entire store and everyone in it was plunged into a covid lockdown
Some escaped, while others remain inside.
Health authorities made the snap decision after a “positive case” was traced back to the busy furniture store.
The “store and affected area” is under “closed loop” meaning anyone inside will be forced into two days of quarantine and five days of surveillance.
Shanghai has a population of around 25 million and has reported 6 daily cases of the virus on Monday.
It comes as China continues to strive for its “zero covid” policy.
