Liverpool have kept their chances of winning an unprecedented four trophies in one season alive

The Reds took a commanding two goal lead in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final against Villarreal.

The winners will face either Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Manchester City, or La Liga’s Real Madrid in the final.

Liverpool have one trophy in the cabinet after winning the Carabao Cup, and are two results away from winning the Champions League.

They are also one win away from winning the FA Cup. But they need Manchester City to slip up in the remaining rounds of the Premier League.

The feat of winning four trophies has never been done before and has been described as impossible by some analysts.

However, seven clubs have achieved the level below, winning the treble of the European Cup, league title and domestic cup.
