Former Ajax forward, Jody Lukoki has passed away at the age of 29

Dutch Club, FC Twente confirmed the shocking loss on social media, and extended their sympathies to the player’s family.

Lukoki first joined Ajax at the youth level in 2008 before graduating to the first team in January 2011.

He won three Dutch league titles with the club over three seasons.

He also played for the national side during his youth career before a debut with the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2015.

Tributes have poured in for the strike, with one user writing they “wouldn’t wish this on anyone”.

The cause of his death has not been confirmed.
