Six subpoenas issued to people the committee believes were involved in spreading election fraud claims

The U.S. Select Committee tasked with investigating the January 6 Capitol riots has called additional witnesses who are tied to alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.

The chairperson has issued six sub-poenas to individuals who the committee believes may have been involved in promoting false claims of election fraud or overturning the election results.

The Select Committee will demand records and testimony from witnesses… including staff members who served in former President Trump’s campaign and individuals associated with the so-called “war room”

The war room was responsible for driving efforts to halt the counting of electoral votes in the lead-up to the violence of January 6th.

In a statement, Chairman Thompson says “the Select Committee needs to know every detail about their efforts to overturn the election, including who they were talking to in the White House and in Congress, what connections they had with rallies that escalated into a riot, and who paid for it all”.
