Israel is preparing for a ground offensive as tensions escalate in the ongoing conflict with Hamas. The recent barrage of rocket attacks from Hamas in the Gaza Strip has drawn strong condemnation from world leaders, with President Joe Biden denouncing the actions as ‘sheer evil’. The Israeli military has amassed troops and equipment along the Gaza border, indicating a potential ground incursion in response to the persistent rocket attacks targeting Israeli cities and towns.

In a statement, President Biden expressed solidarity with Israel and strongly criticised Hamas for their indiscriminate rocket attacks, which have resulted in civilian casualties on both sides. The situation remains highly volatile, with international efforts to broker a ceasefire ongoing, but tensions persist.

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, spoke with soldiers near the Gaza fence, said: “Hamas wanted a change and it will get one. What was in Gaza will no longer be.”
