Instagram is rolling back a whole host of changes after social media users right around the world started a movement against the app

Instagram’s parent company, Meta has announced it’s officially ending a test version of the app.

It follows millions of users, including celebrity sisters Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian… expressing their frustration at the new format.

The controversial changes saw Instagram predominantly feature recommended videos on home screens.

It was all in an attempt to take on rival TikTok, distancing itself from its photo-sharing roots.

In a video released by Instagram’s chief, the company says photos will continue playing an important role for the app, but changing user habits are increasingly favouring video.

Backlash against the test version of a video-focused Instagram led to Instagram’s team to temporarily ditching the video-first version.

But the company has made it clear that it will continue to increasingly cater to video as the market shifts.
