Inside Richard Branson’s life from an island to the edge of space

The sky is certainly not the limit for one of the world’s greatest business leaders, Sir Richard Branson

British entrepreneur and adventurer, Sir Richard Branson started his as a teenager with the magazine ‘Student’.

When the magazine began losing money in the late 1960s, he formed Virgin Mail Order Records to raise funds.

The company, Virgin Records, soon became the principal label worldwide for punk and new wave.

By 1984, he had secured the funds and reputation to back Virgin Atlantic Airways.

The airline started with a single aircraft, but soon took off and became one of the largest privately held companies in the United Kingdom.

It turned out the sky was not the limit for Branson. In 2004, he formed Virgin Galactic, which is a space tourism company that was working toward offering commercial suborbital passenger flights.

Then, in 2021 he reached new heights. The Billionaire reached the edge of space on board his Virgin Galactic rocket plane.

The entrepreneur flew high above New Mexico in the space vehicle his company had been developing for 17 years. He described the journey as the “experience of a lifetime”.

He returned safely to Earth just over an hour after leaving the ground.

An adventurer, trailblazer and challenger—Sir Richard Branson has shown that age is no barrier when it comes to living in the fast lane.
