Khan is facing allegation of allegedly selling state secrets

Violent scenes have erupted in Pakistan as supporters of the nation’s main opposition leader Imran Khan clash with police.

As authorities attempt to arrest Khan at his home in the city of Lahore, they are being attacked by stones and bricks.

Khan is facing allegations of unlawfully selling state gifts while in office, but he believes the case is politically motivated.

The former prime minister says tear gas has been fired into the compound of his home as police try to arrest him.

Khan believes this is all designed to stop his party from taking part in the forthcoming elections.

But, he is adamant this “will not be able to stop [his] party winning.”
