Hong Kong, Singapore travel bubble

Published

on

Hong Kong and Singapore are expected to announce that their two-way travel bubble will kick off as early as May 26.

It’s believed the agreement will allow people to travel quarantine-free between the two financial centres and the number of flights will be increased in the coming months.

Airlines that operate between the two destinations have been decimated as a result of the pandemic. Cathay Pacific had a daily average of 598 passengers throughout March, flying to only 18 destinations.

The two countries have been working on the creation of a travel bubble for some time now – but Covid outbreaks have prevented an earlier start date.

The Hong Kong government said a discussion with Singapore on the re-launch “is at an advance stage and the government will make an announcement as soon as practicable”.
