Gaming blockchain network Ronin has been targeted by hackers who stole Ethereum and USDC

Ronin Network is a blockchain service that supports the popular video game Axie Infinity. It is run and developed by the makers of the game.

In a blog post to the community, Ronin says the hackers used “private keys in order to forge fake withdrawals.”

“The Ronin bridge has been exploited for 173,600 Ethereum and 25.5M USDC.”

RONIN SAYS

Ronin developers believe all of the Ethereum, USD Coin deposits and user funds have been drained from the network and transferred to an anonymous Ethereum network.

The USD Coin is a digital currency that is pegged to the U.S. Dollar.

It comes after more than 20 such hacks were recorded just last year.

As high-profile crypto crimes like these become more frequent, the FBI has also launched a new crypto crime unit to deal with such attacks.
