More than 6.9 million people unprepared to cope with a job loss, admitting they couldn’t survive financially for more than a month if their income dried up

Half of Australia’s population are living paycheque to paycheque, to get by each month.

Alarming new research by Finder suggests a growing number of Australian workers are struggling to make ends meet.

The survey found one in two Aussies are living paycheque to paycheque.

That’s more than 6.9 million people unprepared to cope with a job loss, admitting they couldn’t survive financially for more than a month if their income dried up.

Only 40 per cent of people could live off their savings if they suddenly became jobless.

This comes as Australian Treasurer Jim Chalmers unveiled his second Budget.

The main focus of the federal Budget is to reduce skyrocketing cost of living pressures.
