The war in Ukraine has claimed the life of yet another journalist, with 32-year-old Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoff

France has now announced the opening of a war crimes probe into the killing of journalist Leclerc-Imhoff.

The individual was covering an evacuation operation when he was killed, suffering a fatal wound to the neck.

It’s believed a piece of rogue shrapnel was the cause, piercing the armoured vehicle he was travelling in.

It was the journalist’s second trip to Ukraine to cover the ongoing war, after working with French broadcaster BFMTV for six years.

The network says the incident reminds us all of the dangers faced by journalists who have been reporting this conflict at the risk of their lives.

French President Emmanuel Macron has also paid tribute to the deceased, offering his nation’s ‘unconditional support’ to all those reporting from the frontline.
