Four people have been stabbed at a supermarket in New Zealand’s South Island.
Three of the victims were critically injured in the stabbing at a Countdown supermarket in Dunedin.
The alleged offender is under police guard in hospital.
Police believe it was a random attack.
Two are staff members and two are customers.
New Zealand police say they responded to an incident on Cumberland Street about 2.30pm local time – and one person has been taken into custody.
Countdown says it is “shocked and devastated by the events” in its Dunedin Central Store this afternoon.
