Former Trump advisor Steve Bannon agrees to Jan 6 probe

Published

on

Donald Trump’s former close adviser Steve Bannon has agreed to testify to the panel investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol

US media reports the former advisor has made the offer, however terms of his appearance are still to be worked out.

His change of heart was reported by CNN, the New York Times and Washington Post ahead of a July 18 trial for Bannon on two charges of criminal contempt.

The reports claim Bannon’s lawyer has written to the House of Representatives committee to say Trump would waive the claim of executive privilege which Bannon had cited in refusing to testify.

It’s unclear whether Bannon will agree to the committee’s practice of privately interviewing witnesses before possible public testimony.

The January 6 protest in Washington DC

“Ordinarily, we do depositions,” Representative Zoe Lofgren told CNN. “This goes on for hour after hour after hour. We want to get all our questions answered. And you can’t do that in a live format.”

Lofgren added, “There are many questions that we have for him.”

Under oath

Throughout the select committee’s hearings, videotaped snippets of closed-door testimony by witnesses under oath have been shown to the public.

The House panel said it had no comment on the possibility of Bannon testifying, and Costello did not immediately respond to queries from Reuters. The committee is due to hold public hearings on Tuesday and Thursday this week.

Australia’s multimillion-dollar campaign to attract Hollywood productions to its shores appears to be paying off.

The allure of Australia lies not only in its picturesque locations but also in its competitive financial incentives.

The government offers generous rebates and tax breaks to international productions, making it an attractive proposition for filmmakers looking to maximise their budgets.

Despite the recent intake of Hollywood productions down under such as ‘The Fall Guy’ and ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’, Aussie independents are still finding the space to carve their own creative path.

Rob Fantozzi joined the program to discuss the latest in Hollywood, and showcased his own upcoming project – ‘Omerta‘. #featured

American home prices are rising at faster pace now than in the last 20-years.

A recent analysis reveals a jaw dropping surge in the cost of American homes.

Since the start of 2020, U.S. home prices have surged 47% easily outstripping the gains seen in recent decades.

On top of that, home price growth so far this decade is on the verge of surpassing all the growth seen in the 2000s.

Many experts believe this decade’s housing market frenzy was ignited by a perfect storm — the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic triggering an unprecedented rush among buyers.

Tom Hutchens, the Executive Vice President of Production at Angel Oak Mortgage Solutions joins Veronica Dudo to discuss.
