Former Sony Music Australia boss Denis Handlin has had his iconic Aria award revoked following accusations of a toxic workplace environment while he was chief executive

This is the second award to be removed this week as a result of the allegations, after the board of Australia’s peak recording industry body voted to revoke his 2014 award.

The association did not provide a reason behind the decision, simply saying it “resolved to withdraw the Aria award”.

The Aria group expressed their concern saying “No one should feel unsafe, harassed, discriminated against, or bullied in the workplace”.
