Former AUS PM says “China’s belligerence is self generated” in Taiwan

Australia’s Former Prime Minister, Tony Abbott has become the first PM to meet with a sitting Taiwanese leader

Mr Abbott is in Taiwan to “break bread” in the face of growing tensions with China as it threatens quote “war is real”.

Abbott, who stressed he was on the island nation in a private capacity, took aim directly at China.

Abbott says he wants to help end Taiwan’s isolation from global affairs.

The Former P-M appeared alongside the Taiwan President, as the pair discussed Covid-19, economic partnerships and the ever-growing threat of China.

It comes as tensions continue to rise between Beijing and the island nation.
