Automotive giant, Ford is set to roll out its brand new, updated version of the F150 EV from this week.

The roll out marks a pivotal moment for Ford in its push to move to hybrid and electric vehicles in the United States.

When the Ford F150 Lightning was first announced last year, and as of Monday morning, the 2022 model of the Lightning was sold out.

Ford expects to increase production of the F-150 Lightning to 150,000 units in the next year or so, up from an initial target of 40,000 vehicles.

Ford CEO Jim Farley is hopeful that the company will outperform its competitors by producing more vehicles with its latest vehicle offering.

Interest in electric vehicles has accelerated over the past few year, especially as fuel prices continue to rise.
