Farthest star ever observed detected by Hubble Space Telescope

There’s still so much to uncover about our universe with astronomers detecting the farthest star ever observed

Located 28 billion light-years away the star could be anywhere from 50 to 500 times bigger than our sun.

Detected by the Hubble Space Telescope astronomers have labelled it ‘Earendel’ meaning ‘morning star’ or ‘rising light’.

And it’s recorded to be from 900 million years after the big bang.

Previously, the most distant star observed existed when the universe was around four billion years old.

The reason why Earendel has only now been seen is because its significant distance has taken its starlight 12.9 billion years to reach us.

This discovery could help astronomers understand the early years of the universe.
