Elon Musk has approached AI researchers about developing an alternative to ChatGPT
The news comes a week after Musk expressed his displeasure at OpenAI’s relationship to Microsoft.
Microsoft invested $1 billion in OpenAI in 2019, and in January announced an additional $10 billion investment in the AI firm.
“OpenAI was created as an open source, non-profit company to serve as a counter weight to Google, but now it has become a closed source, maximum-profit company effectively controlled by Microsoft,” Musk said.
“Not what I intended at all.”
