Jon Dee, an esteemed eco-warrior, co-founded Planet Ark with tennis champion Pat Cash in 1988, leading significant environmental campaigns, including efforts to ban plastic bags and phosphates in laundry detergents. Recognised internationally, Dee has received numerous accolades, such as Armenia’s Order of Honor and New South Wales Australian of the Year.

In his youth, Dee developed a passion for environmentalism, influenced by his grandfather’s love for gardening. His career took off after a night of inspiration with Cash, where they envisioned an environmentally focused, solution-driven organisation.

During his tenure at Planet Ark, Dee facilitated a variety of campaigns involving major stars, significantly raising environmental awareness. He successfully mainstreamed recycling and pioneered the plastic bag ban in Australia.

Dee’s extensive work reflects a commitment to advocacy and activism, showcasing the vital work needed to tackle pressing environmental issues.
