EasyJet has launched a month-long winter holiday to Egypt that costs less than the average UK household bills

The £650 per person package – billed as an “Escape the UK” break – is all-inclusive, so food and drinks are covered. It is said to be £227 cheaper than the average winter bills for the same period.

Rent, transport, utilities and food costs over 28 days totals £877 per person – making the easyJet offer 26 per cent less. Financial expert Lynn Beattie said: “For those who could viably rent their homes and work abroad, the new package deal by easyJet holidays poses a very attractive offer.”

The package includes return flights from London Gatwick to Hurghada, close to popular tourist spots such as Luxor and the Valley of the Kings. Holidaymakers will stay in a three-star hotel on an all-inclusive basis.

easyJet’s website says: “We know that money can be tight at this time of year so we’ve done our best to put together a package that meets most people’s needs without breaking the bank.

“With return flights, accommodation and meals included we hope this will be an attractive proposition for people looking for a cheap getaway this winter.”
