World number one Novak Djokovic has responded to his former coach being sent to jail.
Tennis legend Boris Becker will spend two and half years behind bars for hiding nearly $4.4 million dollars worth of assets and loans after he went bankrupt in 2017.
The 54-year-old “six time major champion” spent the first weekend of his term in a south-west London prison. He will serve at least 15 months before being eligible for release.
Becker coached Djokovic for three years during which the Serbian won six majors, including back-to-back Wimbledon titles in 2014 and 2015.
Djokovic described being “heartbroken” when he heard the news.
