The tech mogul was treated in hospital for stab wounds, but later died

The founder of multibillion-dollar tech company Cash App was stabbed to death near downtown San Francisco.

Authorities found 43-year-old Bob Lee with stab wounds and treated him before he later died in hospital.

Lee’s death was confirmed by the CEO of his current employer, MobileCoin.

The tech mogul joined the crypto startup back in 2021 as its Chief Product Officer.

He was also the ex-Chief Technology Officer at Square.

Lee’s father posted a message on Facebook confirming the circumstances surrounding his son’s death.

“I just lost my best friend,” he said.

San Francisco officials have been criticised for their response to a wave of violent crime in recent years.
