The Biden administration will likely appeal the recent court ruling that saw the nation’s mask mandate on travel lifted
In a statement, the Department of Justice says it “disagrees with the district court’s decision and will appeal, subject to CDC’s conclusion that the order remains necessary for public health”.
The Department adds it still believes the order of requiring masks on transportation is “a valid exercise of the authority Congress has given to the C-D-C to protect public health”.
When asked if travellers should continue to wear masks on planes, President Biden says it’s up to the individual.
