US President Joe Biden has delivered his address at the State of the Union declaring that America will ban all Russian aircraft from its airspace effective immediately

Speaking from the House Chamber, President Biden labeled Russian President Vladimir Putin as a ‘dictator’ – stating that nations around the world will continue to punish the Kremlin for its aggression on Ukraine.

“A Russian dictator, invading a foreign country, has costs around the world… in the battle between democracy and autocracy, democracies are rising to the moment”

Biden said,

The United States will also seize the luxury items of Russian oligarchs, including their yachts, luxury apartments and private jets, the President announced – as he and his government continues to impose sanctions on Moscow.

“When the history of this era is written, Putin’s war in Ukraine would have left Russia weaker and the rest of the world stronger”

Biden again stated that the US military will not ‘not engage in the conflict with Russian forces in Ukraine’ – but that’s something the President has been criticised for by some on social media.

No forces from America will join the conflict unless Russia invades a NATO country

The speech was President Biden’s first State of the Union address to a joint session of Congress at the United States Capitol.

He announced a range of new government actions to not only support Ukraine during the invasion by Russia.

Biden also touched on the American economy – including jobs, infrastructure and management of the COVID pandemic, stating his administration will continue to ”get America back to work”
