Beyoncé’s solo tour sells out as Ticketmaster trials new technology to combat bots

After making Grammys history, the first batch of tickets for the North American dates of Beyoncé’s world tour have sold out.

Beyoncé hasn’t staged a solo tour since 2016.

The sale was seen as the first major test for Ticketmaster since the company’s system was overwhelmed by demand for Taylor Swift’s Ear tour late last year.

The Senate Judiciary Committee was investigating a “lack of competition” in the ticketing industry following the saga.

Ahead of the Beyoncé’s ticketing release, the company tweeted it had increased defences, noting “scalpers will likely unleash a record level of bot attacks”.

While some fans expressed joy at securing tickets, others were left disappointed.

Users were asked to register for Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan process – before the first pre-sale opened. #trending #featured
