Gunfire erupted into the crowd that was protesting against the judge leading the probe into the Beirut port blast

A protest in the Lebanese capital of Beirut has resulted in chaos.

Two Shia muslim groups were protesting against the judge investigating last year’s port blast.

Allegedly, gunfire broke out from Christian snipers of the Lebanese Forces, killing at least six people and injuring 32 others.

The inquiry into the explosion that killed 219 people has been a source of huge tension within the country.

The protestors believe the judge to be biased as no one has yet been held accountable for the 2020 disaster.

Lebanon President addressed the demonstrators, saying they “will not allow anyone to take the country hostage to their own interests”.
