Decreased Russian troops lay discarded on the Ukrainian front lines

The BBC has released graphic video footage of deceased Russian troops face down in the snow within Ukraine’s border.

The BBC has released graphic video footage of reporter Quentin Sommerville walking amongst deceased Russian troops faced down in the snow within Ukraine’s border.

While this serves as a way to inform the public of how horrific the situation is in Russia, experts warn that this footage could be harmful to some viewers.

Dr. Kieran Kennedy is a mental health advocate and says that this content is causing people to feel “emotionally overwhelmed”.

“Seeing this kind of footage and stimulus does take an emotional toll on us,”

he says.

He tells Ticker News.

So, are ethical boundaries of journalism being broken?

Crisis Communications Expert, Sanya Ruggiero, says this footage makes people question what other types of human rights violations are taking place if this is how they are treating their own soldiers.

“It’s so important to have these images out there, as hard as they are to see … with so much propaganda blasted out there by Putin … we are at the point now … where these images change the game,”

she says.
