Lawyers for the bankrupt crypto exchange FTX have opposed a demand for internal records, saying they “do not trust” the Bahamian government.

Liquidators of FTX’s Bahamian business, FTX Digital Markets, had asked for access to the U.S. unit’s private messaging data.

Lawyers for FTX asked the judge to deny the request.

Bankman-Fried was this week in the Bahamas and is being detained while awaiting extradition to the United States.
