Nationals frontbencher Bridget McKenzie has announced an investigation into her own flight upgrades amid allegations she may have received unregistered perks.

Labor is turning up the heat on this scandal, pointing fingers at McKenzie while she leads an attack over the Prime Minister’s conduct.

Sources reveal that McKenzie may have received upgrades from Qantas as recently as this year—though it’s unclear if they were all disclosed on her parliamentary register.

McKenzie confirmed she’s been waitlisted for business class on a few work flights, adding she’s reached out to airlines to review her records dating back to 2011.

Labor seized on the moment, with Social Services Minister Amanda Rishworth even ambushing McKenzie over the issue on Sunrise this week.

Rishworth questioned McKenzie’s handling of upgrades, hinting at something the senator was reluctant to address.

In a heated exchange, Rishworth noted that Prime Minister Albanese has “publicly declared very, very clearly what he has been gifted.”
