It has been announced that crowds at the Australian Open Grand Slam will be capped at 50% as COVID case numbers in Melbourne soar

The Victorian state government has enforced the limit on attendances… but all tickets that have already been sold will be honoured…

This is true even for events that may already be over 50 percent total capacity.

Further Covid restrictions enforced across the rest of the state will also be applied including a density limit of one person per 2-square metres.

In addition to this, ventilation at indoor areas will be improved and new air filters installed.
