Australia is set to buy 220 Tomahawk cruise missiles from the United States.

The deal is worth more than $1 billion but it’ll need to be approved by Congress first.

This coming just days after the AUKUS alliance announced a fleet of nuclear-powered submarines for Australia.

Australia’s Defence Minister Richard Marles says the deal is “a really important part of what we need to be doing with our posture, which is to have a greater ability to project.”

In a statement, the Pentagon says Australia is one of the U.S.’ most important allies in the Western Pacific
