Australia Post scraps crucial service, leaving local producers in the dark

Australia Post has cut a key service that has been a critical operational tool for producers. 

It means the postal service will no longer carry or deliver any perishable food such as cheese and fresh produce.

Executives revealed that the service carried many operational complications.

It comes as former CEO Christine Hogate reveals she tried to save vital services like the produce delivery scheme at Australia Post and even more importantly, the Banking-At-Post service. 

Christine Holgate resigned from Australia Post in 2020.
