UK Members of Parliament express their concerns about China’s invitation to Queen Elizabeth’s funeral

The Queen’s funeral will be a time for world leaders to come together, put their differences aside, and pay their respects. However, anger is brewing about China’s invite to the historic event.

China’s Xi Jinping is on the guest list, but is not expected to make an appearance. Instead, his Vice-President will likely take his place.

However, some UK Members of Parliament have expressed their concerns about the Chinese Government’s invitation in the first place.

In a letter to the foreign Secretary, Senior Tories have called for the invite to be withdrawn.

The letter reads “It’s extraordinary that the architects of genocide against the Uyghur minority have been invited.”

However, representatives from Russia, Belarus and Myanmar have not been invited.
