Airport chaos as pilots prepare to walk off the job

AIRPORT CHAOS- Pilots at Delta Air Lines are authorising a strike if their upcoming negotiations crumble.

Around 99 per cent of those tied down to the union want a new employment contract.

Around 150,000 pilots are part of the union but they are unable to walk off the job until they get permission from the ‘National Mediation Board’.

It must decide whether existing mediation efforts are productive before offering pilots the chance to mediate the conflict.

The union says the negotiations have been going on for too long, and that it’s time for the company to get serious at the bargaining table.
