Netflix is set to cut the price of its subscription plans in some countries

 
The streaming giant is aiming to maintain subscriber growth amid stiff competition within the sector.

The cuts will apply to some countries in the Middle East, sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and Asia.

And they will only apply to certain tiers of Netflix packages.

Earlier this month, the company laid out plans to crack down on password sharing for accounts on its streaming platform.

Shares in the company dropped off the back of this news.
