Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has signed an order, banning TikTok on government-owned devices due to cybersecurity concerns.

This is on the back of more than 20 other states also following suit and banning the Chinese-owned social media behemoth on devices, including Ohio and New Jersey.

In a statement, TikTok said it was “disappointed that so many states are jumping on the political bandwagon to enact policies that will do nothing to advance cybersecurity in their states and are based on unfounded falsehoods about TikTok.”

Calls to ban the platform on government-owned devices gained steam after a FBI director revealed it poses a national security risk.
