Putin responds to Biden’s “war criminal” comments

The Kremlin has responded to comments made by US President Joe Biden where he referred to Russian President Putin as a “war criminal

The Russian Government says comments made by the US President are “unforgiveable” and has vowed it will not be ending its military operation in Ukraine anytime soon.

Ukraine will receive an additional $1 billion in security assistance from the United States as the war continues

President Biden is pledging the direct transfer of weapons to Ukrainian forces… in what he says ensures “Ukraine will never be a victory for Putin”.

The total military assistance being provided by the United States is more than it has ever provided to a single country in the past.

This latest assistance package will include a range of weaponry and defensive machinery including drones, anti-aircraft systems, machine guns, shotguns, grenade launchers and 20 million rounds of ammunition.

Biden says the West will continue to do everything it can to push for an end to this tragic war.

Following this media conference, Biden publicly labelled Vladimir Putin a war criminal

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has delivered a passionate address virtually to Congress with a clear message: “We are all Ukrainians”.

With his nation under siege, the leader called on American lawmakers to do more, requesting further lethal aid, a no-fly zone and increased sanctions on Russians.

Zelensky also proposed the creation of a new international security organization, asking President Biden to be the leader not only of the U-S but of the world.

It’s not the first time Zelensky has spoken so passionately to Western diplomats, with this address following previous talks to Canadian, British and European lawmakers.

The International Court of Justice has officially ordered Moscow to stop its invasion of Ukraine, warning there is no evidence to support its justification of the war.

In a statement, the ICJ says:

“The Russian Federation shall immediately suspend the military operations, that have as their stated purpose the prevention and punishment of a claimed genocide”.

Ukraine filed a dispute to the court on February 26, citing the Convention of Crime of Genocide.

The hearing took place in The Hague, with the decision confirmed by a 13-2 vote.

A Russian and a Chinese judge were the two to vote against the decision.

In Short:
– Trump’s approval rating has dropped to 38% due to concerns over costs and the Epstein investigation.
– Only 26% of Americans approve of Trump’s handling of everyday expenses amidst rising inflation.
A recent Reuters/Ipsos poll indicates U.S. President Donald Trump’s approval rating has dropped to 38%, marking the lowest level since his return to power. Dissatisfaction stems from rising living costs and concerns regarding the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. The four-day poll, concluding on November 18, reveals only 26% of Americans approve of Trump’s management of everyday expenses. Increasing public concern regarding inflation has further eroded support. The Republican-controlled House recently passed a measure to release Justice Department files on Epstein, an issue Trump initially resisted but later supported.

Poll findings show Trump’s overall approval has declined two points since early November. He began his second term with a 47% approval rating, now nearing lows seen during his first term. Biden’s approval fell as low as 35%, reflective of economic discontent.

Republican Support Wanes

Trump’s approval rating among Republican voters is now 82%, a decrease from 87% earlier this month. The perception that he is not adequately addressing living costs is a significant concern, contributing to reduced popularity among constituents. Notably, only 20% approve of Trump’s handling of the Epstein case, with 70% believing the government is withholding information.

Trump’s economic strategy, which included tax increases on imports, has been criticized for contributing to rising prices. As midterm elections approach, his declining popularity may pose challenges for Republican candidates in upcoming races.
