Three Chinese astronauts have returned to Earth after completing the nation’s longest space mission

The astronauts spend a total of 90 days in space at the Tianhe module at China’s space station.

That station is located around 380 kilometres above Earth.

The three astronauts on Thursday boarded the Shenzhou-12 manned spacecraft and soon after undocked from the space station.

The recent mission, deemed “very successful” is another demonstration of China’s growing confidence and capability in the space station.

During their time in space, the three men completed a various amount of tasks including transmitting experiment data back to Earth.

According to the Chinese Global Times, the astronauts also conducted hours-long spacewalks.

According to reports, the core module of the space station, where the astronauts lived, is said to have separate living spaces for each astronaut and a space gym equipped with a specifically designed treadmill and bicycle.

The three astronauts had departed Earth for the Chinese space station on June 17th 2021.
