In a major move for the Biden administration, 8,500 American troops have been put on “high alert” for possible deployment to Eastern Europe.

The Pentagon says it has forces in Europe to deter any aggression and is ready to send additional forces.

The Pentagon press secretary says it’s important to stress “no final decision has been made to deploy them.”
