Diplomatic discussions
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in New York for the U.N. General Assembly, aiming to discuss air defence systems with U.S. President Donald Trump. He highlighted strengthening bipartisan support for Ukraine in meetings with U.S. senators, citing new Russian sanctions measures.
French President Emmanuel Macron announced plans to provide Ukraine with additional radars for its power infrastructure. Discussions about potential ceasefires on energy targets were also on the agenda with Trump.
The ongoing conflict has resulted in more than 500,000 Russian troop fatalities, creating a protracted war that has lasted over four years. Zelenskyy is advocating for enhanced U.S.-made Patriot air defence systems to better shield Ukraine from ballistic missile threats.

Continued aggression
Ukrainian forces revealed their attack on the Rosneft-operated refinery came as part of an ongoing response to Russia’s multiple assaults. Zelenskyy warned that Russia shows no intent to relent in its military actions.
He aims to reaffirm the necessity for advanced military support during his visit. The situation reflects a deepening crisis between the nations as diplomatic efforts continue.
