World champion cyclist Julian Alaphilippe has been brutally injured after hitting a tree in a high-speed crash

Alaphilippe crashed in a mass pileup at the one-day Liège-Bastogne-Liège cycling race in Belgium.

According to his team QuickStep AlphaVinyl, he has two broken ribs, a broken scapula, and collapsed lung.

The mass crash saw multiple cyclists flung off their bikes.

Opponent Romain Bardet escaped the crash and was set to win the race but chose to stop and help Alaphilippe who had fallen down the hill amongst bushland.

“It was just a nightmare,”

“When I looked around, I saw Julian maybe five or six meters down, and it was an emotional shock because he was in a bad situation. No one was coming and he really needed help. It was an emergency situation. He couldn’t move, he couldn’t breathe.”

“He felt conscious but he couldn’t really talk. I really hope that he’s OK. The mechanic came, then the doctor. The road was completely blocked.

“A lot of guys were involved in a very bad situation. No one saw him, you couldn’t really see him from the road … After that, I was in shock. The race was gone. I was lucky to escape with no injuries.”

At this stage, Julian remains in a stable condition in hospital. Messages of support and well wishes are flooding in for the world champion.

A helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his foreign minister crashed on Sunday as it was crossing mountain terrain in heavy fog.

The allure of Australia lies not only in its picturesque locations but also in its competitive financial incentives.

The government offers generous rebates and tax breaks to international productions, making it an attractive proposition for filmmakers looking to maximise their budgets.

Despite the recent intake of Hollywood productions down under such as ‘The Fall Guy’ and ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’, Aussie independents are still finding the space to carve their own creative path.

Rob Fantozzi joined the program to discuss the latest in Hollywood, and showcased his own upcoming project – ‘Omerta‘. #featured
