Sports brand Wilson has come up with an ingenious concept

The company has come up with the first 3D airless basketball, that will never need to be inflated.

There’s no bladder on the inside, and it is made up of lattice-like hexagon structures that hold the sphere together.

Wilson used a 3D printer to make the basketball, after years of research.

And for those wondering, yes, it bounces just like a real ball.

It is still in a prototype phase, and won’t yet be available in stores for several years to come.
